Our Petco Park Stadium Series Baseball Story & Inspiration:

Home of the San Diego Padres. Petco Park is a baseball stadium located in the heart of downtown San Diego, California. It is the home stadium of the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball.

Petco Park opened in 2004, taking over as the Padres' home stadium from Qualcomm Stadium. The stadium's southern side is bounded by San Diego Trolley light rail tracks that run along the north side of Harbor Drive and serve the adjacent San Diego Convention Center. On March 11, 2004, the first baseball game at Petco Park was part of a four-team NCAA invitational tournament hosted by San Diego State University. The San Diego State Aztecs baseball team defeated Houston, led by retired Padres player Tony Gwynn. It was the most attended college baseball game in history. Lance Zawadzki recorded the first hit, a double.

Mission Valley was home to the San Diego Padres MLB team from 1969 to 2003. From San Diego to Jack Murphy to Qualcomm, the Friars had their share of memorable moments, from Steve Garvey's 2-run walk-off in Game 4 of the 1984 NLCS to Mr. Padre Tony Gwynn's hitting prowess. During their time in Mission Valley, the Padres made two World Series appearances, in 1984 and 1998. In 2004, the Padres relocated to Petco Park, revitalizing the surrounding East Village and Gaslamp District.

Oh, you lovely Petco. Petco Park Baseball will show you why Petco Park is always a sight to behold. A Baseball Commemorative that would look great in your home or room and gives delight to your family and friends. Thank you, Petco Park, for all of the fantastic games played by the San Diego Padres.
